Today I decided to take some quick break from my vacation. No trips today. I'll just stay at the hostel doing nothing.
I found out that the owner of this hostel is also the owner of another hostel here, the Mendoza Inn. And I also found out that this other hostel is much better, with barbecue facilities, wide yard, swimming pool for the same price. And I also found out that the guests at this hostel can actually go there to enjoy its facilities. So we went there to stay the afternoon around the swimming pool.
Tomorrow I'm off to the rafting on the Mendoza river. It's rafting level 4. 12 km and it costs ARS 70. Some folks told me it's very cool.
Let's see what happens.
One intriguing thing here in Mendoza is that on the sidewalks there are holes where the water flows. They call them Caza-borrachos (as the drunk guys coming back from parties usually fall into these holes :P)
Another thing about Mendoza is the central square. It's very large and it's full of cafes and bars, creating a nice atmosphere since cars can't go there.
Another interesting thing is that there're tons of Porteños here (folks from Buenos Aires)
They decide that Mar del Plata sucks and come here for adventure doing rafting, trekking, rapel, bungie jump, mountain climb and so on.

hehee, hoje tirei ferias das minhas ferias, nada de passeios. Soh ficar morgado no albergue com a boca cheia de dentes escancarada bla bla bla, hehehehee. Afinal, a tarde descobri que o dono do Albergue Campo Base, tambem eh dono de um outro albergue aqui perto, chamado Mendoza Inn. E tambem descobri que este outro albergue eh MUITO melhor, com churrasqueira, amplo quintal, piscina, tudo pelo exato mesmo preco, se muito uns 3 pesos mais caro. Sendo assim, quando vierem a Mendoza, direto pro Mendoza Inn :p. Por boa sorte, nos deste albergue podemos ir la tambem, entao la fomos nos morgar a beira da piscina de uns 4 x 4 metros. Coisa boa!!!! Amanha vai rolar um rafting no Rio Mendoza, nivel 4 no rafting. Serao 12 quilometros, e custa 70 pesos. Ja me disseram que eh muito maneiro. Vamos ver. Uma coisa muito intrigante aqui em mendoza, e que a tubulacao que esta na calcada, ao inves de ser coberta, como eh no Brasil, ou seja, nao se ve tubulacao, aqui eh aberta. Entao ficam estes buracos na calcada, em todas. Aqui chama de caza-borrachos (caça bebados :d)
Outra caracteristica marcante da cidade, eh o calcadao, que se estende por uma area grande, e que esta abarrotado de bares e cafes, criando uma atmosfera bem legal, ja que os carros nao ficam passando fazendo barulho.
Hehehe, bom, soh mais uma caracteristica marcante. Aqui tem uma verdadeira legiao de portenhos. O pessoal que enche o saco de Mar Del Plata, que afinal eh uma porcaria de uma praia fria e chata, vem pra ca para fazer um outro tipo de turismo, na base de rafting, trekking, rapel, bungie jumpie, escalada de montanha, enfim, coisas de montanha. Ate mais galera!
