Bologna La Grassa

First, a contribution from my friend Mateo Fusco, a legitimate Bolognese:

Bologna has 4 nicknames:

• Bologna La Gorda (the fat), because of its food! Super awesome, you have to try the Mortadella, the Salsa Bolognese (called Ragu in Italia), the Tortellini (pasta), etc.
• Bologna la Dotta (the intelligent), because of it's University... the most ancient in Europe made in 1088ad
• Bologna la Rossa (the red), because of its Communist past and of the color of the its roofs, you have to climb the Asinelli Tower, the highest in town where you can see it for yourself
• Bologna La Torruta (with Towers), because it had more than 200 towers back in the days (i'm talking about 1200ad), now only 18 are left...

The city somehow still keeps the medieval looks and finally some city not so touristic. Most sidewalks downtown are covered so you can walk around even when raining (We have a history with rain in this place, it kinda follows us).

Also the brown color gives the city a special charm.

Primeiro, uma contribuição do meu amigo Mateo Fusco, legítimo bolonhês.:

Bologna tem 4 apelidos:

• Bologna La Gorda (A gorda), devido a sua comida. Muito boa, você tem que provar a mortadela, o molho bolonhesa (chamado na Itália de Ragu), o Tortellini (pasta), etc.
• Bologna la Dotta (a inteligente), devido a universidade, a mais antiga da Europa, feita em 1088dc
• Bologna la Rossa (a vermelha), devido ao passado comunista e a cor dos telhados, que é possivel ver do totpo da torre Asinelli Tower (EUR 3 para subir), o ponto mais alto da cidade
• Bologna La Torruta (com Towers), porque tinha mais de 200 torres nos dias antigos(por volta de 1200dc), agora tem só 18...

A cidade mantém o visual medieval e finalmente chegamos numa cidade não tão turística. A maioria das calçadas na região central é coberta então dá pra caminhar por tudo mesmo quando tá chovendo (Estamos trazendo a chuva para onde vamos).

E a cor amarronzada dá um charme especial a cidade
