Here are a few things I have learned about Rome.
1. The best ice cream in town is not on Piazza Navona, but rather on Via Merulana. If I remember right the name is Merulana Ice. It's very close to Manzoni subway station and a 5 minutes walk from the Colosseo.
It tastes the same as the one in Piazza Navona, however the price is much better :) While in Piazza Navona you get the small for EUR 2.50, here you get the big cup, which is really huge for the same price.
2. Best pizza found is on Via Florida, 25. They sell so much that the pizza is always warm, just out of the oven. They sell by the kg, and the price is around 10 to 13 euros per quilo.
3. Best restaurant is very close to the Colosseo, in a corner in San Giovanni in Laterano. Pasta is excellent and cheap, bread comes for free, the house wine is only 2.50 EUR for 500ml and it's delicious. Service is outstanding too.
4. If you see them selling things by a unit called "Etto", don't worry. It just means 100 grams.
5. You can visit everything by walking. Just so you know Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon and Piazza Navona are very close. The only thing out of bounds for a walk is the Vatican. Line A subway and go off on Otaviano station. Follow the crowd. Everybody going off on this station is probably going there.
6. Be smart. If you buy things from the shop right in front of the Colosseo you pay more. Just walk 150 or 200m away and you find the same things for half the price.
7. Cars DO STOP if you are to cross the crosswalk (When there are no traffic lights). However you have to start walking slowly, the cars stop. It's not like in Brazil, where if you put your foot 50cm into the street, already 7 cars run over you and one comes back to run over you once again.
8. Carefull with the motorini, the motorcycles go in the sidewalk sometimes.
9. Use Line B of th subway before you make your mind about Rome's subway. Line A is dirty and horrible, Line B is not so bad.
10. Yes, Rome has only 2 subway lines, and there's a 3rd on construction. However the city is very small and the ruins prevent the construction of many more lines.
11. Castelo Sant'Angelo is the best place in the whole town. Make sure you go to the top and take pictures of Rome (See pictures below).
12. Don't try to be smart and try a free ride on the trains. The guy sitting in front of me paid 50 EUR fine. I had to hold my grin smile.
13. Not much happens on Sundays, so plan for that if you're traveling there this day.

Algumas coisas que eu aprendi sobre Roma:
1. O melhor sorvete da cidade não está na Piazza Navona, e sim na Via Merulana. O nome é Merulana Ice. Muito próxima da estação Manzoni do Metro A, 5 minutos do Colosseo.
O sabor é o mesmo e custa 2.50 EUR um sorvete grande, enquanto lá na Piazza Navona você vai patear EUR 2.50 por um sorvete pequeno.
2. A melhor pizza é na Via Florida, 25. Eles vendem tanto que a pizza tá sempre saindo do forno, e sempre quentinha. Eles vendem por quilo, preço em torno de 10 a 13 euros por quilo.
3. O melhor restaurante fica perto do Colosseo, numa esquina da rua San Giovanni in Laterano. Massas são muito boas e baratas, pão é brinde e o vinho da casa custa 2.5 EUR por meio litro e é muito bom. O atendimento é muito bom também.
4. Se você vir eles vendendo coisas pela unidade "Etto", não te preocupes, Etto significa 100 gramas.
5. Você pode visitar quase tudo caminhando. A propósito a Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon e Piazza Navona estão muito próximos. A única coisa mais longe é o Vaticano. Para chegar lá use a Linha A do metrô, desça na estação Otaviano e siga a multidão.
6. Seja esperto. Se você comprar coisas na loja ou restaurante em frente ao Colosseo vai pagar mais. Se você caminhar 150m ou 200m vai pagar a metade.
7. Carros PARAM quando a gente vai atravessar a rua na faixa de segurança. Não precisa fazer sinal, só começar a caminhar (Use prudência no entanto). Não é como no Brasil que se você puser o pé na rua 7 carros te atropelam e ainda um volta pra te atropelar mais uma vez.
8. Cuidado com os motorini, as motos sobem na calçada as vezes.
9. Use a linha B do metrô antes de formar sua opinião sobre o metrô de Roma. A linha A é suja e nojenta, mas a linha B não é tão ruim..
10. Sim, Roma tem só 2 linhas de metrô, e uma em construção. Mas a cidade é bem pequena, e na parte de ruinas é muito difícil fazer metrô.
11. Castelo Sant'Angelo é o melhor lugar na cidade. Suba até o topo do castelo para ver Roma inteira de cima.
12. Não tente dar uma de esperto e querer andar de graça nos trens. Um cara que tava sentado na minnha frente pagou 50 euros de multa. E eu tive que segurar a risada (Juro que não fui eu rsrsrsrs)
13. Domingo é morto em Roma, tenha isso em mente se você for visitar a cidade neste dia.
