Venice is a-maze-ing. Yeah, that's the upmost important moment of my non-career as a writer. Producing 2 meanings in a single word. Yes, the city is amazing. It's sooo nice and charming. It's pretty much car free, only boats and pedestrian areas. You can't really ask for much more.
It's really small, you can go everywhere walking. The furthest thing would be probably 2km away, a short walk even for the most sedentary. Also, if you are sedentary think of this walk as necessary mean to get to the next ice cream stall LOL
And it's also a maze. Like a rat maze. If not for the signs everywhere pointing either to Saint Mark's square or to the RailStation, you'd be stuck in it for a few days before finding an exit. The signs are everywhere, though I'm not really sure if they point you to the shortest path to your destination. Some part of my brain insist that the signs make sure you see as many shops as possible. It's very hard to use your cellphone GPS, as the buildings block the signal.
And before you even ask, yes, the city is as charming as the movie with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.(The Tourist (2010))
You can move around by either
a) Walking
b) taking a taxi boat
c) taking the Vaporetto. This is the water bus. Like a bus line, with stops, station names and everything
d) You can take the Gondolas. These are small boats usually for 2 or 4 people. There's a guy available to row so you can just enjoy the ride. And this guy in charge of rowing is wearing a "The Beagle Boys" costume LOL with the white and black stripes on the shirt.

Veneza é muito legal. Mas muito legal mesmo. Praticamente não tem carros rodando pela cidade, apenas calçadões e o canal para os barcos. Não há muito mais que se possa pedir.
É bem pequena, dá pra caminhar por tudo. A coisa mais longe deve estar há uns 2km no máximo, uma caminhada curta mesmo para o mais sedentário. Mesmo que você seja sedentário, pense nessa caminhada como uma ação necessária para chegar na próxima sorveteria rsrsrsrs
E é também um labirinto. Se não fossem as plaquinhas indicando o caminho tanto para a praça São Marcos ou para a Estação de trens, você estaria preso ali por alguns dias. Essas plaquinhas estão por toda parte, apenas não tenho certeza se elas apontam o caminho mais curto para o seu destino. Eu tenho a impressão que na verdade elas apontam um caminho de modo que você veja o maior número possível de lojas. É muito difícil usar GPS de celular pois os prédios são altos e próximos, o que bloqueia o sinal.
Antes mesmo que você pergunte, sim a cidade é charmosa assim como no filme com a Angelina Jolie |e o Johnny Depp (O Turista (2010))
Você pode se locomover:
a) Caminhando
b) Pegando o barco-táxi
c) Pegando o barco-ônibus. chamado de Vaporetto. Funciona como um ônibus normal, tem paradas, nomes de estações e etc
d) Gondolas. Esses barquinhos para 2 ou 4 pessoas são o cartão postal da cidade. Tem um cara para remar, e esse cara é meio que fantasiado de irmãos Metralha, pois tem a camiseta listrada de branco e preto na horizontal.
